Job description

Travel Specialist III - Active Secret security clearance required for this position.
enGenius is seeking a Travel Specialist to support a prospective Federal Client in Arlington, VA. This position is contingent upon contract award. The role requires an experienced individual capable of managing a high volume of domestic and international travel for a large government office.
Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate all domestic and international travel for approximately 30 government personnel, preparing all travel authorizations and vouchers in the Defense Travel System (DTS) in compliance with the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) and Department of War (DoW) Financial Management Regulation.
  • Manage the office travel budget, maintaining and updating a monthly travel plan.
  • Research and interpret JTR provisions to advise government personnel on travel entitlements, per diem rates, and allowable expenses.
  • Provide DTS operations support, help desk assistance, and training to office personnel as needed.
  • Review and process travel vouchers for accuracy and compliance, ensuring all receipts and supporting documentation are complete.
  • Track travel expenditures against the allocated budget and provide monthly updates to government leadership.
  • Processing passport/visa applications as well as processing permanent change of station travel authorizations and vouchers.

Experience Required:
  • 6 years of prior experience supporting travel management for a government office.
  • Demonstrated experience with the DTS, applying DoW travel policies, the JTR, and the Financial Management Regulation to travel.
  • Experience managing travel for a large group of government personnel and international travel coordination.
  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage high-volume, time-sensitive travel requests accurately.
  • High school diploma.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Prior experience supporting travel management for a government office.
  • Experience providing DTS help desk support and end-user training.
  • Experience tracking and reporting on travel budget execution against allocated funding.

Security Requirements:
  • Active Secret security clearance required. Must be in place at contract start date. Verification will be required.
