Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Critical Care Float position requiring 2+ years of ICU experience and prior travel experience.

Details
  • Critical Care Float pool covering Surgical ICU, Cardiac ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, Medical ICU/Bone Marrow Transplant Oncology ICU, and one mutually agreed Med-Surg unit
  • Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:2
  • 3x12 shifts, day and night variable schedules available
  • Weekend requirement
  • Floating required within the hospital only
  • No call requirements
  • Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
  • Active WA or compact RN license required
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required; CCRN preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required with cardiac, neuro, and general ICU skills
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Skilled in ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, and airway suctioning
  • Experience with continuous IV sedation, cardiac and vasoactive drip titration
  • Experience in CVA/acute stroke management and post-neurosurgery care; EVD and ICP monitoring preferred
  • Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and multisystem organ dysfunction care
  • Experience with IV insulin protocols, IV therapy, and PICC line management
  • Experience with post cardiac surgery care and Swan Ganz/pulmonary artery line monitoring; TAVR experience preferred
Additional Information
  • Work within a Magnet-designated academic teaching medical center
  • Maximum RTO of 1 week, with requirement to work 2 of 3 major holidays
  • No RTO permitted during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
  • Prior UW Medical Center staff must have 18 months separation before returning as a traveler
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
  • COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
