Livonia Travel Plaza is located at 8621 Airline Highway, Livonia, Louisiana. Livonia Travel Plaza “On The Way to Everywhere” is a one-stop shop: Convenience Store, Casino, Fuel and Truck Stop. Offering a wide selection of snacks, candy, beverages, groceries, retail necessities, novelties, gifts, and full deli serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and daily special options alongside competitively priced fuel, new diesel pumps and large truck parking.


ABOUT THE ROLE:

SNAPSHOT: The Cook (Deli Associate) role is responsible for greeting, assisting and providing exceptional customer service and making sure everyone leaves with a smile! Cooks are held to very high standards since serving our customers is an important role within our store. Cooks are responsible for preparing and serving all food served in the deli and ensuring continuous delivery of superior quality and freshness of all products.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver Outstanding Customer Service: Greet customers and provide friendly, courteous, friction-less and elevated experience for guests.
  • Ensure superior quality and freshness of all ingredients and food products prepared and produced before making them available to customers.
  • Understand food label ingredients to provide customers with accurate information.
  • Participate in recipe development and execution. Monitor food quality, presentation. Maintain appropriate product assortment and levels in the cold and hot cases.
  • Promote an in-store selling culture: creating a variety of appealing displays to attract guests.
  • Understand all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Promptly respond to requests for service and assistance.
  • Treat all customers and co-workers fairly, consistently and with respect
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment for food preparation, clean shelving, refrigeration equipment, appliances, storage, prep and display areas.
  • Foster positivity and professionalism in all aspects (including appearance) towards guests, co-workers and management.
  • Adheres to and comply with all company policies, best practices, safety guidelines and regulations, applicable local, state, and federal laws
Requirements:

ABOUT YOU:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be at least 18 years or old. High School diploma/GED or equivalent preferred.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily pass a criminal background check and drug/alcohol screen.
  • At least 1-2 years of proven commercial cooking, restaurant experience. Previous experience working in a high-volume, guest-focused, transactional environment preferred.
  • Must be able to read, understand and follow recipes, work quickly, accurately and efficiently.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in food preparation, cooking techniques, using kitchen equipment and health and safety regulations.
  • Must be able to frequently stand, walk, squat, bend, balance, lift and move up to 10-50 pounds throughout shift.
