Shift Supervisor (Full-Time) - Residential Behavioral Health

Cook Claus Program | Girls Ages 12-17 | Specialized program for girls healing from trafficking and sexual trauma

Since 1960, Wedgwood Christian Services has been dedicated to boldly taking on the toughest mental health and behavioral health problems in West Michigan. We serve children, teens, families, and adults through residential care, counseling services, and community programs.

Lead a Trauma-Informed Residential Treatment Team

We are seeking a Shift Supervisor to provide direct care within our residential behavioral health program serving adolescent girls (ages 1217). Many of the girls in our Cook Claus Program have never experienced consistent safety or stability. As a Youth Treatment Specialist, you will show up daily as a stable, caring adult helping youth build resilience, practice emotional regulation, and envision a future beyond trauma.

As a Shift Supervisor, you will serve as both a mentor to youth and a leader to staffensuring consistency in care, guiding daily operations, and supporting a therapeutic environment grounded in trauma-informed practices. You will play a critical role in maintaining structure, coaching staff, and ensuring high-quality care on every shift.

Schedule:

  • 4 weekdays (primarily 2nd shift) and every other weekend (Saturday & Sunday, rotating 1nd/2nd shift)
    • 1st shift: 7am3pm
    • 2nd shift: 3pm11pm

Compensation:

  • $21-$23/hour

What Youll Do

Working alongside our multidisciplinary treatment team, you will:

  • Provide direction to direct care staff during assigned shifts
  • Coordinate staff assignments to ensure appropriate coverage and effective treatment support
  • Ensure completion of all shift responsibilities, including documentation, medication administration, and scheduled programming
  • Support and guide staff in implementing individualized treatment plans
  • Provide real-time coaching, feedback, and mentorship to promote staff development and team cohesion
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new staff as assigned
  • Create and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment grounded in the Sanctuary Model (safety, emotional intelligence, open communication, and social learning)
  • Build consistent, mentoring relationships with youth using trauma-informed and relationship-based approaches
  • Utilize verbal de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques to support behavioral regulation
  • Model and teach healthy communication, problem-solving, and daily living skills
  • Support youth in developing life skills, self-worth, and positive identity formation
  • Engage in structured recreational and skill-building activities
  • Administer medications as assigned and support physical wellness routines
  • Support residents health needs, including first aid response and coordination of medical care
  • Transport residents to appointments, school, work, or community activities as needed
  • Document and maintain accurate records in alignment with behavioral health standards
  • Ensure adherence to all agency policies, procedures, and licensing requirements
Background & Qualifications

Required:

  • At least 20 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid drivers license
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and safely perform physical interventions when necessary
  • Ability to bend, twist, and support movement in a residential setting
