Transpo Group is always seeking the best and the brightest talent to join our team!  We have openings for Transportation Interns throughout the year looking for a dynamic organization to help grow their career and learn from the best in the industry!  We invite interns to explore their career path through our Transportation Planning and Traffic Engineering disciplines. The internship is roughly 25 to 40 hours per week but does have the ability to flex up or down in hours based on your school commitments or as project load and timing permits.  While we do our best to give exposure to all parts of our business, we are seeking interns to work with our Engineering and Planning teams.

During the school year, we typically have a variety of temporary projects of short duration that can accommodate any class schedule. We structure our summer internship program as follows:

  • Research Project(s): 20% (can be achieved virtually or in the office)
    • Identifying research areas that you are not only passionate about but also address some of the current and future technical needs of Transpo.
    • Developing research protocol and benchmarks relevant to the topic mutually selected.
    • Documenting data and summarizing analysis.

  • Personal Development: 20% (can be achieved virtually or in the office)
    • Job shadowing in person and virtually
    • You will be assigned a mentor to help you assess your personal development areas and create goals
  • Engineering or Planning Project Work: 60% (typically achieved in the office or in the field)
    • Perform general engineering tasks including Field Work, Collection and Analysis of Traffic Data
    • Conduct entry-level traffic operations analysis (Planning Intern)
    • Perform basic CAD design work (Engineering Intern)
    • Provide general support to project managers as needed
    • Develop solutions to transportation challenges using qualitative and/or quantitative analysis techniques
    • On the job-training will be provided by a supervisor and/or peer-mentor

Everyone at Transpo is committed to a high level of integrity and shares a passion for excellence. If you have a passion for excellence and a desire to work with some of the best talent in transportation, we want to hear from you today!
