Position Summary
The Global KOL Management Manager leads the governance, and execution of global Key Opinion Leader (KOL) and external expert engagement across multiple therapeutic areas and/or species. This role builds and operationalizes a high-impact, compliant KOL ecosystem-driving scientific exchange, evidence generation, advisory insights, and coordinated engagement plans across regions.

The role partners closely across Global Medical Affairs, Global Portfolio Marketing, Commercial Colleagues, Research and Development, Diagnostics, and Regional/Local teams to ensure KOL activities are insight-driven, measurable, and aligned to the product lifecycle and corporate objectives.

Position Responsibilities
KOL Tools, Systems, and Process Excellence

  • Support build, co-own and continuously refine a global KOL data repository in Salesforce, including workflows for profiling, engagements, and insights.
  • Drive process improvements for faster planning cycles, better insight capture, and improved stakeholder satisfaction by establishing structured alignments and enterprise ways of working
  • Develop KOL AI profiling capabilities within Salesforce incorporating data on scientific influence, clinical leadership, network centrality, publication/presentation impact, guideline participation, and unmet-need alignment
  • Implement and enforce KOL engagement governance (SOP adherence, transparency reporting readiness, contracting, documentation, and audit trails).
  • Create KOL profiles and engagement pathways, incorporating preferences, conflict-of-interest considerations, and engagement history.
  • Partner with regions to validate KOL prioritization and local relevance; ensure a consistent global taxonomy and data standards.
  • Global KOL Strategy & Planning
  • Maintain a global KOL strategy aligned to therapeutic-area priorities, product lifecycle needs, and scientific communication plans.
  • Partner with cross functional teams to develop annual KOL engagement plans, including segmentation, objectives, channels, cadence, and resourcing.
  • Identify and prioritize scientific engagement opportunities (e.g., congresses, symposia, publication initiatives, advisory boards, speaker programs where permitted, digital engagements).
  • Insights, Measurement & Optimization
  • Create a closed-loop KOL insights process: capture, synthesize, triage, route to owners, and track actions to completion.
  • Define KPIs and dashboards (reach, engagement quality, insight yield, action conversion, geographic coverage, and lifecycle impact).
  • Use analytics to optimize segmentation, engagement mix, and resource allocation.

Cross-Functional & Matrix Support

  • Serve as the global point of contact for KOL management
  • Provide guidance and enablement to regional/local KOL owners on best practices, tools, and standards.
  • Facilitate alignment across Global Medical, Commercial, Diagnostics, Marketing, R&D, and external communications to ensure coherent engagement.

Education and Experience
Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree strongly preferred (DVM, PhD, or MSc) in a relevant scientific discipline.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in Medical Affairs, scientific engagement, or related life sciences roles
  • 3+ years of experience in KOL/external expert management
  • Demonstrated experience planning and executing compliant HCP/KOL engagements at country, regional, or global scale.
  • Strong working knowledge of industry compliance requirements (HCP interactions, transparency, FMV, contracts, privacy).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a global or matrixed role spanning multiple geographies.
  • Experience with KOL/CRM tools, stakeholder mapping methodologies, and analytics-enabled engagement measurement.
  • Experience designing insight-to-action processes and governance.

Working Conditions

The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $93,000 to $140,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the base pay target range for new hire salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

This position is also eligible for short-term incentive compensation.

This position is also eligible for long-term incentives.
