What You Will Be Doing:
The position of Account Executive - Intellectual Property (IP) Sales is responsible for developing new business relationships and serving as the first level of support to existing clients within the IP space. This role focuses on driving sales of IP-related language and legal support services to law firms, corporate legal departments, and IP professionals.
Responsibilities:
  • Research prospective clients within the intellectual property and legal sectors through various strategies including internet research, trade show lists, referrals, professional directories, and personal investigation
  • Create accurate spreadsheets of prospective client data including names, titles, phone numbers, addresses, and other relevant information
  • Generate daily outreach to prospective clients using updated and accurate data
  • Cold call prospective clients within the IP and legal markets
  • Creatively problem solve to improve current new business development strategy in the IP space
  • Negotiate rates and deadlines with prospective and current clients
  • Educate prospective and existing clients regarding the translation and IP support process, including TransPerfect's rates, turnaround times, and competitive positioning
  • Liaise with production teams to ensure IP-related projects are handled appropriately and with keen attention to detail
  • Consistently follow up with clients to ensure satisfaction with delivery, quality, and customer service
  • Research and understand the intellectual property industry, including industry leaders, current events, patent and trademark trends, and other pertinent data
  • Perform other special projects or duties when required

New York City Salary Transparency
Compensation range: $55,000 - $60,000
Additional earnings: Eligible to earn commission

Who We Are Looking For:
Required Experience:
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree
  • Excellent English communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Between 1-3 years of sales experience
  • Proven sales life cycle experience - lead generation through business closing
  • Proven track record in achieving sales targets
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Effective time management skills

Bonus Qualifications (Highly Preferred):
  • Experience working in the intellectual property (IP) field
  • Prior paralegal experience, particularly in patent or trademark law
  • Familiarity with patent filings, trademark prosecution, IP litigation support, or related legal processes
  • Experience selling services to law firms or corporate legal departments
