Job description

Overview

Kimley-Horn is seeking a Transit Planner with 2+ years of experience to join our Transit Planning team in our new South San Francisco office, opening later this year. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing team, contributing to impactful transit projects that shape the future of transportation in the region.

Responsibilities
  • Support all phases of transit planning projects, including data collection, analysis, and the development of technical findings to inform actionable plans and strategies.
  • Conduct detailed quantitative analyses of ridership, demographic, and operational data to support accurate planning recommendations.
  • Develop maps and visual exhibits and perform spatial analyses using ArcGIS Pro and other related ESRI tools to clearly communicate project findings and trends.
  • Analyze complex datasets leveraging tools such as Microsoft Excel, Tableau, and Power BI to drive insightful solutions and recommendations.
  • Prepare concise and professional written deliverables, reports, and presentation materials that simplify complex issues for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborate across teams and work closely with other disciplines including civil engineering, transportation planning, and urban design to deliver integrated transit solutions.
  • Stay informed on industry best practices, emerging trends, and technologies to enhance project outcomes and processes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Urban or Regional Planning, Transportation Planning, Geography, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in transit planning or a closely related discipline.
  • Proficiency in transit planning tools, including ArcGIS Pro, Excel, Power BI, and Tableau.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to inform project outcomes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to think critically, work independently, and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • A passion for improving transportation systems and enhancing mobility for communities.

Salary Range:

$100,00 to $120,000
