Transcendent Healing Psychology Practice is seeking a dedicated and fully licensed Senior Mental Health Counselor to join our passionate and experienced mental health team. This full-time remote position offers a unique opportunity to specialize in geriatric mental health, providing therapeutic services to older adults facing various psychiatric challenges. With a salary range of USD 115,000 to 130,000 annually, this role allows you to make a meaningful difference in the lives of elderly individuals while working in a supportive environment.

Work Environment

This position allows for flexibility with a remote work setting that enables you to connect with patients through teletherapy. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments tailored to the specific needs of older adults, considering factors such as cognitive decline and social dynamics.
  • Utilize a holistic approach to develop and implement personalized treatment plans that address both psychological and physical health challenges.
  • Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, leading individual and family therapy sessions focused on issues such as depression, anxiety, and dementia-related disorders.
  • Collaborate actively with geriatric psychiatrists and other multidisciplinary team members to provide integrated care, enhancing our patients' overall treatment experience.
  • Offer crisis intervention for elderly patients during mental health emergencies, providing immediate support and developing strategies for stabilization.
  • Educate both patients and their families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and available resources in the community to foster understanding and engagement.
  • Maintain precise and confidential patient records in accordance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
  • Participate actively in team meetings, case consultations, and ongoing professional development to keep current with geriatric mental health advancements.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be the geriatric population, addressing a broad spectrum of mental health concerns commonly encountered in older adults. This includes managing complexities related to dementia, anxiety, depression, and adjustment challenges that arise due to aging. You will be at the forefront of enhancing the quality of life for these individuals, guiding them through the intricacies of mental health issues with compassion and expertise.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in California.
  • At least two years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling, preferably with a focus on geriatric populations.
  • A thorough understanding of geriatric mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment modalities.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting individual and family therapy for older adults.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating a patient-centered and empathetic demeanor.
