State Department Federal Credit Union is seeking a Training Specialist to serve as a foundational member of the learning and development function, supporting the consistent delivery of training that enables employee performance and operational effectiveness. This role reinforces established standards for training delivery and learner experience, helping to ensure employees are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed for success. Through collaboration with internal teams, the Training Specialist contributes to a reliable and supportive learning environment that promotes consistency, confidence, and service excellence across the organization


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliverย and leadย training sessions according to department standardsย for new and existing employeesย ย 
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and support to learners during and after training
  • Develop, update, andย maintainย trainingย resources,ย materials, including curricula, manuals, job aids,ย andย assessments
  • Support the creation and delivery of training programs such as new hire onboarding, product training, and professional development sessions
  • Maintain current knowledge of organizational products, services, policies, procedures, and available resources to effectively support training and employee development
  • Train employees on core systems, software, and tools, including troubleshooting and user supportย 
  • Assistย with testing, training, and implementation of system updates and releasesย 
  • Administer the Learning Management System (LMS), including assigning training, tracking completion, and generating reportsย 
  • Support day-to-day operations of training programs and ensure required training is completed
  • Identifyย and communicate training needs,ย opportunities forย improvement, and support implementation of newย initiatives

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Education, Training & Development, English, or a related field, or equivalent experience preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in training, facilitation, or course development and design
  • Strong communicationย skills, including facilitation, presentation, interpersonal, and written communication.ย 
  • Demonstrated ability to support the development and delivery of training materials and learning experiences.ย 
  • Proficiencyย in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with standard training tools and technologies.ย 
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze training needs and apply creative approaches to support learning solutions.ย 
  • Experience in a financial services retail branch and/or call center environment preferred
