Join BAE Systems' award-winning security team at Electronic Systems (ES) as a Security Training & Development Manager. Lead the creation of a best in class, data driven learning ecosystem that equips every member of the security workforce with the knowledge, skills and career pathways needed to protect critical assets, meet stringent regulatory mandates and stay ahead of emerging threats. This role supports the entire Security function, encompassing both Program Security and Security Operations directorates.
Job Summary:
As a Training and Development Manager supporting our Security function, you will own the sector-wide training program and Learning Management System (LMS); create role-based curriculum for all security positions and ensure alignment with defense regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain training modules for each security role covering onboarding, transfers, promotions, early-career, and experienced staff pathways
Map training to NIST, ISO 27001, ITAR/EAR, NISPOM and other applicable standards, keep curriculum current with audit findings and emerging threats
Deliver blended learning (e-learning, virtual instructor-led, classroom, and simulation exercises)
Partner with Program Security Leads, Security Operations Leadership, and HR Talent Development to conduct needs analyses and embed learning into career ladders and performance reviews
Track and report KPI metrics (completion rates, assessment scores, time to competency) on an agreed upon basis to Security leadership
Produce compliance documentation routinely, and as needed, to support internal and external audits and inspections
Administer the LMS (content upload, user provisioning, reporting, enhancements)
Represent the IT & Security function in the Electronic Systems functional training working group
Other duties as required
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • 5+ years of experience in a security or defense environment, including 3+ years' experience in Learning and Development (L&D) and a minimum of a high school diploma
  • Proven administration of a major LMS (current sector system is iLearn)
  • Working knowledge of training requirements for Facility Security Officers (FSOs), Alternate FSOs, and Contractor Special Security Officers (CSSOs)
  • Familiarity with NIST, ISO 27001/2, ITAE/EAR, NISPOM and related compliance frameworks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Demonstrated ability to create innovative solutions and develop collaborative relationships

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • An undergraduate degree in human resources, education, security management, a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience leading and managing enterprise training development programs
  • Experience with Microsoft O365 including but not limited to, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote, SharePoint, Lists, Forms, Planner and Power Automate
  • Working knowledge of physical security systems, including access control, surveillance, and alarm systems
  • Active Secret security clearance

Pay Information
