Job description

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Lead Cargo Operations & Development Instructor is responsible for the development of maintenance, administration, and facilitation of training programs and training materials for Cargo Operations employees at all stations. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring training records, employee qualifications, and regulatory requirements are maintained in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. This position will oversee employee development through classroom instruction, on-the job-training (OJT), recurrent training, CBT administration, recordkeeping, and continuous improvement of training programs and materials. Will also lead and assist in development of other corporate and company training as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):

1. Leads the development, maintenance, and delivering of Cargo Operations initial, recurrent, and remedial training programs to facilitate employee development and operational excellence
2. Develop and maintain Cargo Operations Manuals, Standard operating Procedures (SOPs), training presentations, job aids, and instructional materials
3. Create, update, and maintain training slides, spreadsheets, reports, and supporting documentation to ensure training materials remain current and accurate
4. Promote understanding of established policies, procedures, safety requirements, and operational standards throughout the cargo department
5. Determine training needs and select the most effective instructional methods to ensure training is delivered consistently and effectively throughout the network
6. Develop and facilitate classroom, virtual, computer-based, and on-the-job training (OJT) programs for employees, supervisors, and trainers
7. Evaluate and improve training methods, deliver techniques, and training materials to maximize learning effectiveness and operational performance
8. Analyze training needs and develop new training programs or modify and improve existing programs to support operational, regulatory, and business requirements
9. Administer and maintain employee training records, certifications, and training documentation in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements
10. Upload, track, monitor, and report completion of computer-based training (CBTs), recurrent training, and required qualifications
11. Conduct periodic audits of training records and employee qualifications to ensure compliance and accuracy
12. Ensure employee training records are current, complete, and audit-ready at all times.
13. Assist with internal audits, external audits, regulatory inspections, and corrective action initiatives related to training and employee qualifications
14. Participate in Train-the Trainer programs and provide guidance and support station trainers
15. Provide training support to personnel, including classroom instruction, OJT training, coaching and employee development activities
16. Assist other departments with training development, training documentation, employee development initiatives, and procedural updates
17. Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying training gaps, recommending solutions, and implementing program enhancements
18. Other miscellaneous duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Significant experience in the areas of air cargo security, safety and ground operations required.
• Must be able to develop and maintain training materials in a professional and user friendly manner.
• Ability to train all levels of employees.
• Possess strong ability to multitask in a fast paced environment and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends. Ability to travel within the State of Hawaii.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (e-mail, word, excel, etc.…) desired.
• High School diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree or minimum (2) years experience in training desirable.
• Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, 5-year background check, 10-year criminal history check and security threat assessment.

COMPENSATION
This position has a starting range of $27 - $31.25 per hour
