Training & Development Specialist

Ocala, FL | $19–$24/HR | Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM

Join Our Mortgage Servicing Team!

We are seeking a Training & Development Specialist to develop and deliver engaging training programs that prepare employees to perform their roles accurately, confidently, efficiently, and in compliance with mortgage servicing, regulatory, investor, and company requirements. The ideal candidate is an experienced trainer and communicator with strong mortgage servicing knowledge and a passion for employee development and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and deliver new-hire, role-specific, refresher, cross-training, and continuing education programs.
  • Facilitate engaging classroom, virtual, hands-on, and individual training.
  • Develop and maintain training materials, presentations, job aids, assessments, guides, and learning resources.
  • Evaluate employee knowledge, proficiency, and readiness through assessments, practical exercises, observation, and performance results.
  • Conduct post-training follow-up and provide coaching or additional training when needed.
  • Partner with Operations, Compliance, Quality Assurance, HR, and subject matter experts to identify training needs and performance gaps.
  • Develop training for new systems, processes, regulatory changes, policies, and operational initiatives.
  • Analyze quality results, repeat errors, performance trends, and other indicators to identify opportunities for training and improvement.
  • Maintain training calendars, records, attendance, assessment results, and proficiency documentation.
  • Report on training effectiveness, employee readiness, knowledge gaps, and performance improvements.
  • Use technology, AI, video, and modern learning tools to improve training effectiveness and scalability.
  • Support continuous improvement and cross-training initiatives across mortgage servicing operations.

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in mortgage servicing, financial services, training, learning & development, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience delivering instructor-led, virtual, or hands-on training.
  • Mortgage servicing experience and knowledge of servicing operations strongly preferred.
  • Experience developing training curricula, presentations, job aids, assessments, and other learning materials.
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, coaching, and communication skills.
  • Ability to explain complex mortgage servicing concepts and procedures in an easy-to-understand manner.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to evaluate employee performance and identify whether issues are related to training, processes, systems, or individual performance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), digital learning platforms, or e-learning tools is a plus.
  • Comfortable learning and training others on mortgage servicing systems and new technology.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
