Registered Nurse – Rapid Response Travel Position
Location: Hendersonville, TN
Job Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 3×12 Nights
Pay: $2,644.20/week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Rapid Response Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in Hendersonville, TN. The Rapid Response RN provides immediate, expert-level critical care support to patients who exhibit acute or deteriorating clinical conditions outside of the ICU. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional assessment skills, rapid clinical decision-making, and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments in high-pressure situations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to Rapid Response and Code Blue calls, delivering advanced clinical interventions to stabilize patients.
  • Assess, monitor, and manage patients experiencing acute deterioration in collaboration with primary nursing and medical teams.
  • Perform comprehensive assessments, initiate emergency treatments, and implement evidence-based interventions.
  • Administer medications, manage airways, and provide advanced cardiac life support when required.
  • Act as a clinical resource and mentor for staff nurses, promoting early recognition of patient decline and appropriate escalation.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, ICU teams, and ancillary staff to ensure seamless transitions of care.
  • Document all interventions, assessments, and outcomes accurately in the medical record.
  • Maintain readiness of emergency equipment and supplies in accordance with hospital policy.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to rapid response and critical event management.

Qualifications

  • Active RN license in Tennessee or a compact state.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years of recent acute-care or critical-care experience (ICU or ED experience required).
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (additional facility-required certifications as applicable).
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and recent tuberculosis test.
  • Exceptional clinical assessment, decision-making, and rapid intervention skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently under pressure and respond efficiently to emergencies.
