QA Manager - Food Safety and Quality

We are hiring a QA Manager! As the Quality Assurance Manager you are responsible for ensuring food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance for the operations at the plant in Mooresville, Indiana. You will develop and monitor systems that support the food safety plan for the facility while performing routine risk assessments.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead site Quality and Food Safety programs to ensure compliance with customer requirements, regulatory standards, and company policies.
  • Manage and maintain food safety systems including HACCP, Environmental Monitoring Programs (EMP), allergen control, pest management, CAPA, and Management of Change (MOC).
  • Oversee internal, customer, supplier, and third-party audits, ensuring ongoing readiness for GFSI, FDA, and other regulatory and certification requirements.
  • Partner with laboratory teams and external testing providers to ensure timely, accurate product testing, specifications compliance, and product release decisions.
  • Lead product disposition decisions, investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions related to quality, food safety, and customer complaints.
  • Coordinate mock recalls, crisis management exercises, and food safety risk assessments to ensure compliance and operational readiness.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve quality and food safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations, Regulatory, and Commercial teams to support ingredient qualification, supplier quality, product development, and customer requirements.
  • Manage customer quality interactions, escalated concerns, and certification programs, including export registration and product-specific certifications. Monitor and report quality performance metrics, complaint trends, audit findings, sanitation effectiveness, and continuous improvement initiatives to site leadership.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop quality team members while supporting departmental budgeting and strategic planning.
  • Support laboratory operations as needed, including test verification, Certificates of Analysis (COAs), product specifications, documentation, and product quality investigations.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline or related field.
  • 4+ years of Quality Assurance or Food Safety experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, GFSI standards (SQF/BRC/FSSC), and FDA regulations.
  • Experience managing food safety programs including EMP, allergen control, CAPA, and audit readiness.
  • Proven leadership experience influencing cross-functional teams and driving quality improvements.
  • Laboratory and product release experience, including testing, specifications, and COA review.
