Sleep Technician Trainee

The Sleep Technician Trainee works under the direct supervision and mentorship of a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) and Clinical Director to provide comprehensive sleep disorder evaluation and treatment in an acute care hospital setting. Responsibilities include assisting with diagnostic sleep studies, therapeutic interventions, patient monitoring, data collection, documentation, equipment maintenance, and patient education while delivering safe, high-quality care. The Sleep Technician Trainee may perform sleep technologist duties when an RPSGT is present and must be enrolled in, or have recently graduated from, an accredited sleep technology program while working toward registry certification. This role offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth and development, with a pathway to transition into a Registered Sleep Technologist position upon attainment of board certification.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Sleep technician trainees must be enrolled in an accredited educational program on sleep technology or have graduated from such program and is awaiting registry.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association required within 3 (three) months of hire.
