Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a QA Engineer based in Netherlands.

As a QA Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of innovative fintech products used in complex payment ecosystems. Working within cross-functional product teams, you will take ownership of testing activities across the software development lifecycle, helping deliver seamless user experiences and robust platform functionality. This role combines hands-on manual testing with API validation, exploratory testing, and continuous process improvement in a collaborative, remote-first environment. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and designers to maintain high quality standards while contributing to the evolution of testing practices. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and is passionate about building reliable financial technology solutions.

Accountabilities
  • Take ownership of quality assurance activities within cross-functional product teams, ensuring high standards across every stage of the development lifecycle.
  • Design, execute, and maintain comprehensive testing strategies covering functional, UI, API, integration, regression, and exploratory testing.
  • Perform thorough validation of web applications across multiple browsers, devices, and screen sizes, ensuring pixel-perfect user experiences.
  • Test API endpoints, authentication flows, payload validation, error handling, and third-party integrations using industry-standard tools.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and design teams to define quality expectations early in the development process and promote shift-left testing practices.
  • Create clear, reusable test cases, detailed defect reports, and comprehensive documentation to support efficient issue resolution.
  • Review and improve test coverage, regression testing processes, QA documentation, and overall quality assurance methodologies.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA tools, workflows, and best practices while supporting a culture of quality across the organization.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in manual and semi-automated testing of web-based applications.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience with API testing, including authentication, payload validation, and error handling.
  • Proven experience testing payment platforms, financial applications, transactional workflows, or similar business-critical systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Postman, Swagger, Chrome DevTools, SQL, and test management platforms such as TestRail or Xray.
  • Solid understanding of REST APIs, frontend-backend interactions, session management, data validation, and application architecture.
  • Experience performing responsive UI testing across multiple browsers, operating systems, and devices.
  • Good understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), and Agile methodologies including Scrum and Kanban.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a meticulous, detail-oriented mindset and a strong focus on identifying functional and visual defects.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities effectively, and communicate clearly within distributed cross-functional teams.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.
  • Fully remote position with flexible working hours aligned with Central European Time (CET).
  • 19 business days of flexible paid time off.
  • Supportive, collaborative, and values-driven remote work culture.
  • Opportunity to participate in industry conferences, events, and professional communities.
  • Exposure to innovative fintech technologies and complex payment solutions.
  • Matrix organizational structure that encourages collaboration, transparency, and efficient decision-making.
  • Excellent opportunities for continuous learning, professional development, and long-term career growth.
