Overview: Hardware Trainee is an entry level/trainee position. As a "Trainee" you will work under complete supervision. Provide assistance, learn to read and interpret manufacturing drawings (customer drawings/blue prints), learn to perform general hardware installation on fabricated parts, learn to operate a drill press; as well as, the policies, procedures and processes used at Athena Manufacturing, LP, and the importance of safety awareness.

Key Responsibilities: (include but not limited to): Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, include and are not limited to the following:

  • Learn the use of safe working habits and clean work area (6S)
  • Adhere and promote Athena Manufacturing Code of Values.
  • Learn and Identify Safety Hazards.
  • Learn job skills, company policies and processes to do routine tasks.
  • Learn basics of running a press brake
  • Learn basic machine/equipment repair and maintenance
  • Learn to install, align, and lock specified punches, dies, cutting blades, or other fixtures
  • Work on low level production parts with a low difficulty rate
  • Sort materials or products for processing, storing, shipping, or grading
  • Mark products, work pieces, or equipment with identifying information.
  • Monitor equipment operation to ensure products are not flawed
  • Grind out burrs or sharp edges, using portable grinders, speed lathes, or polishing jacks.
  • Measure completed parts to verify conformance of specifications
  • Examine completed parts for defects
  • Record/document operational and production data
  • Perform other jobs or functions assigned by supervisor/manager.
  • Learn to operate equipment safely and the use safe work habits.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area.
  • Learn basics of running a press brake
  • Check equipment for proper operation, safety and or needed maintenance.
  • Documents completion of work or inspection operations on travelers.
  • Performs set-up and first piece / cut inspections.
  • Coordinates with department manager to ensure work scopes are accurately defined.
  • Performs periodic maintenance to equipment in accordance with QMS procedures.
  • Records set-up and run time data into M2M system.
  • Handles material in accordance with QMS procedures.
  • Identifies cost reduction and productivity improvement opportunities to supervisor.


Requirements:

Qualifications: Minimum Preferred Qualifications, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, include and are not limited to the following:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • (2) years of consistent working experience, as well as
  • (2) years of related experience


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Essential physical requirements pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, include and are not limited to the following:

  • Strength — (Heavy)- Exert up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
  • Movement- climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, twisting, bending
  • Auditory- talking and hearing
  • Vision-near acuity, far acuity, depth perception, color vision, field of vision
  • Environment conditions and physical surroundings-noise, vibration, atmospheric conditions

  • Comfortable with Technology, open to learning/coachable
  • Made2Mange (M2M and SFM)
  • Warehouse and inventory systems
