Description:


As Recovery Counselor at Benchmark Transitions (โ€œBenchmarkโ€), you will be responsible for assessing and monitoring clients' behaviors while in treatment for chemical and alcohol abuse and dependency. In collaboration with the Clinical Director and Program Director, the Recovery Counselor is responsible for documenting client behavior in group participation and counseling. Recovery Counselors also provide crisis management and counseling services while facilitating group education for clients in a therapeutic setting. The Recovery Counselor also cares for the clientโ€™s emotional needs, coordinating treatment and discharge planning.



Requirements:
  • Creates and monitors individual treatment plans for clients.
  • Conducts and completes Family Notes weekly.
  • Conducts and Notes Individual Counseling weekly.
  • Facilitates Groups that consist of Relapse Prevention, Psycho-education, Anger Management, Process Groups, Drug and Alcohol Education, Communication, Healing and Trauma based groups, Aftercare, Life Skills, and Psycho-educational Groups.
  • Completes BPSs within 24-48 hours of intake.
  • Completes MTPs within 24-48 hours of intake.
  • Completes all necessary intake/discharge forms in accordance with policies.
  • Maintains current and accurate documentation/records/files in accordance with policies.
  • Familiar with Community Resources.
  • Has an understanding of 12-Step Programs and SMART recovery.
  • Has an understanding of the overall program functions.
  • Facilitates crisis and conflict resolution in accordance with protocol.
  • Participates in staff and clinical team meetings.
  • Performs other related duties as required and/or assigned.
  • Adheres to policies and procedures.
  • Understands and follows policy for Client Rights and Cultural Diversity.
  • Intervenes during crisis intervention situations.
  • Cooperates with health insurance clinical utilization reviews and ASAM assessments.
  • Participates in the agencyโ€™s Quality Management system.
  • Provides appropriate treatment interventions relative to the specific needs of each client.
  • Adheres to code of ethics, legal aspects of clinical practice, professional standards, duty to warn, abuse and neglect reporting policies and procedures, and exercise professionalism at all times.


Qualifications.

  • CADC-I (or equivalent) or higher.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Proficient in ASAM Criteria and clinical assessments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must work independently and as part of the team.
  • Ability to complete tasks in a challenging environment.
  • Superior time management and calendaring skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability.
  • Must be willing to work as a team player with team members of other departments.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Current Naloxone Certification.
