| Common Search & Comparison | Traffic Assistant vs Traffic Coordinator |
The main difference between a Traffic Assistant and a Traffic Coordinator lies in their scope of responsibilities. Traffic Assistants typically support scheduling and administrative tasks, while Traffic Coordinators oversee the entire traffic flow and logistics. Both roles require similar credentials and are used across media, transportation, and logistics industries. The Traffic Coordinator role generally involves more responsibility and coordination duties, making it a step up in the traffic management career path.
A traffic assistant helps manage the advertising on radio and TV news stations to ensure it stays on track during broadcasts. Reporting to the traffic or news director, your job duties as a traffic assistant include guaranteeing that advertisements meet the requirements of contracts, overseeing the ad copy, scheduling ad air times, and making sure the customers who bought the advertising are pleased with the results. The preferred qualifications to begin a career as a traffic assistant include a bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, or journalism, although a high school diploma may be sufficient for this entry-level role. A successful traffic assistant possesses strong organizational and data-entry skills and can gain initial experience through on-the-job training.
