Main responsibilities:

  • Role is centered around financial analyses including scenario analysis, root cause analysis, & financial performance.
  • Role is responsible for the Corporate Traffic scheduling and reporting information systems support team.
  • Role is responsible to coach and develop team members for maximum effectiveness.
  • Role is responsible to identify and develop high potential employees for levels of greater responsibility and scope.
  • Role is the companies’ subject matter expert on freight metrics and associated information system feeds.
  • Role provides peer level counsel regarding freight account entries on all company distribution center general ledgers.
  • Role research accounting anomalies related to freight charges. Communicates findings and resolutions to Distribution Finance teams.
  • Role reviews and rationalizes Division Transportation profitability reports related to CAMS/Prospero, relative to freight allowances, transportation costing, and warehouse handling for all DCs.
  • Role reviews and publishes consolidated backhaul rates, keeping rates current in companies TMS Information System.
  • Role validates lumper submittals including invoices, coding and appropriateness for accounts payables.
  • Role reviews lumper rates and keeps rates current in companies Transportation Management (TMS) system.
  • Role validates detention fees and related ledger entries.
  • Role teams with Corporate Traffic Operations on special projects, such as seasonal turkey program, Carrier claims, claim release signoffs, AVISS ticket reviews, etc.

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

  • 4-year college degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or equivalent field.
  • 8 plus Years of Experience in Finance or related field and 3+ years as a Manager of people.
  • Self-motivated problem solver with high degree of initiative and sense of urgency.
  • Proven track record of success managing and contributing to group work.
  • Capable of managing multiple assignments and competing priorities with tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated passion for working with data to solve complex problems.
  • Structured, organized thinker who can solve problems with minimal direction.
  • Strong project and process management skills
  • Proven experience using analytics to address business problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and interact across functional teams.
  • Strong oral communication, written communication and leadership skills.
  • Capable of summarizing complex issues in a simple, succinct manner.
  • Advanced knowledge of: Hyperion Essbase, SQL, financial model, P&L structure and drivers.
  • Proficient knowledge of relational databases (both PC and mainframe).
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel and Access, Word & PowerPoint)
