Alter Trading is searching for an energetic, detail-oriented Scale Administrator (temporary position) for its operations located in Reeds Spring, MO. Job Description/Responsibilities

Under supervision, oversee, facilitate, process and maintain accurate records for the yard of scrap materials received and/or shipped.


Job Description/Responsibilities


Reporting to the Facility Manager, the Scale Administrator performs duties required to oversee, facilitate, process and maintain accurate records for the yard of scrap materials bought at the scale.

  • Visually verify material on scale; read weight in computer
  • Visually verify material type; enter code in computer
  • File appropriate paperwork to support scheduled payments to be made
  • Complete hands-on duties at scale to keep area clean and all materials organized
  • Work with Zebra tag printer and tag all packaged materials ready to ship with correct codes
  • Help customers in a timely fashion
  • Send all paperwork/documentation to office for later reference
  • Use of Fairbanks scale, copy machine, fax machine, calculator and computer
  • Continuous physical activity with occasional lifting/moving of 5lbs.-75lbs
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required


Safety:

Wears all necessary PPE if they are in the yard. Follows company safety standards at all times. Failure to follow standards, may result in loss of position.



Requirements:

High school diploma or GED preferred but not required. Math aptitude necessary, must be able to multi-task when handling customers and vendors in person, on the phone, etc. Must have the ability to develop effective working relationships with customers and vendors. General knowledge of difference between ferrous and non-ferrous material preferred. Cash handling experience necessary. Must be able to pass a background check, credit check and drug test.
