Job description

OVERVIEW:

The incumbent in this position is responsible for assisting in the development, planning and execution of the promotions, events and other marketing efforts in support of both the Players Club and Player Development areas of the Marketing Department. The incumbent in this position is responsible for developing an environment that creates excitement for guests.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to make Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain their choice for gaming entertainment; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to team members in order to provide superior guest service.
  • Assists the Marketing Operations Manager in the formations of theme, format and budget specifications for specific promotions, events and tournaments.
  • Assists the Marketing Operations Manager to maintain and create the promotions in the promotional software and Casino Marketplace.
  • Formulates & designs rules, processes & policies for promotions and events under the guidance of the Marketing Operations Manager and in accordance with Hard Rock rules and regulations. Once approved, also follows through to ensure all promotions, events and tournaments are executed in accordance with those submissions.
  • Executes promotions and events inside the Casino with duties including but not limited to assisting patrons participating in promotions, completing the necessary paperwork for prizes and awards, checking in guests for marketing functions, and assisting patrons with the redemption process for gifts and other giveaways.
  • Ensures collateral, signage, decorations, and other materials for promotions and events are displayed prior to and recovered at the end of each project, promotion or event.
  • Works closely with the Players Club, Casino Hosts, Slots Department, Food & Beverage Department, Facilities and Wardrobe Departments in response to variety of guest related issues and related needs.
  • Interfaces with operating departments to ensure timely coordination of all event related tasks and requirements.
  • Responsible for assisting in the overseeing of interviewing, selection, training and discipline process of subordinate team members.
  • Supports Players Club, Player Development events and promotions as needed.
  • Supervises all promotions, events and tournament functions and staff when the Marketing Operations Manager is unavailable.
  • Performs clerical duties as needed.
  • Maintains security and confidentiality of files, records and lists.
  • Establishes an effective working relationship with all operating departments.
  • Coordinates & communicates with third party vendors.
  • Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing work and public spaces.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)

  • Six (6) months of experience in promotions, marketing, special events or public relations required.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically in Power Point, Excel and Word.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must present a well-groomed appearance.
  • Must be able to work with little or no supervision.
  • Must be organized and detail oriented.
  • Must be able to work harmoniously with co-workers.
  • Must have an eye for detail.
  • Must conduct themselves in accordance with all Hard Rock Hotel & Casino at Fire Mountain policies and procedures.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc):

  • Must obtain and maintain valid licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.
  • Must successfully pass background check.
  • Must successfully pass drug screening.
  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Prior experience in the Gaming industry strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience in Tribal Gaming preferred.

KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • Understanding of and experience in the property’s regional gaming market.
  • Casino marketing functions including, but not limited to data base, advertising, promotions and branding.
  • Promotions and event planning, logistics and execution along with strong organizational skills.
  • Procedures, methods, and equipment including computers and applicable software applications such as word processing, email, spreadsheets, and data bases to include excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of Bally’s CMP, Bally’s EBS, Aristocrat OASIS, or like software.
  • Pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations.
  • Cash handling, marketing and sales techniques.

  • This position spends time on the Casino floor and is subject to varying levels of crowds and noise, and the severity of which depends upon guest volume.
