What You Will Do:
As a Manager in Guidehouse's Financial Management (FM) practice supporting Department of War clients, you will lead initiatives that transform core financial management functions and operations. Our finance transformation consultants help our clients across the Department of War optimize all elements of their financial management structure by transforming business processes, enhancing the efficiency of operations, improving transparency and performance management, promoting change management, and complying with Federal laws and regulations. This role focuses on driving finance and accounting domain excellence while leveraging technology solutions to deliver actionable insights, enhance operational efficiency, enable auditability, and modernize financial processes in alignment with federal standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Finance Transformation Projects: Oversee end-to-end delivery of initiatives that modernize financial operations, improve transparency, and strengthen performance management for Department of War clients.
  • Strategic Process Improvement: Assess current-state financial processes, identify pain points, and design future-state solutions that optimize reporting, compliance, and operational integrity.
  • Technology Enablement: Drive adoption of advanced tools and platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, PowerApps, ServiceNow, Databricks, Snowflake, Palantir) to build dashboards, automate workflows, and develop AI-driven models for financial data analysis.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a trusted advisor to senior client executives, providing strategic guidance and ensuring alignment with federal financial policies and audit readiness.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Manage and mentor project teams, fostering collaboration and building technical and consulting capabilities across analytics, automation, and financial management.
  • Change Management: Promote organizational readiness and adoption of new processes and technologies through structured change management strategies.

What You Will Need:
  • Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD "SECRET" security clearance; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of clearance prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an ACTIVE "SECRET" or higher-level clearance are preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or related field
  • FOUR (4) years of more in financial management consulting or related roles, with demonstrated expertise in finance and accounting operations and transformation initiatives.
  • Hands-on experience with data analytics, automation, and AI tools applied to financial management use cases.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and project management capabilities; ability to synthesize complex information and deliver high-impact solutions in fast-paced environments.

What Would Be Nice To Have:
  • An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED "SECRET" Federal or DoD security clearance
  • Advanced degree
  • Certifications in Agile, Scrum, or Project Management (PMP, CSM, SAFe)
  • Experience with Python, R, SQL for data analysis and visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Qlik)
  • Background in change management or organizational design within financial environments

The annual salary range for this position is $113,000.00-$188,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
