Job description

Basic Function

HF Sinclair is seeking a Refinery Accountant in Tulsa, OK.  In this role, you will conduct moderately complex to complex yields accounting assignments as assigned with limited supervision.

Job Duties
  • Tracks and records product shipments, receipts, and railcar inventories
  • Responsible for monthly plant volumetric reconciliation and close process in both sigmafine and SAP platforms
  • Assists manager with the handling of internal/external audit requests
  • Assists with reviewing and troubleshooting system interface issues related to product movements
  • Reviews, analyzes and develops solutions for problems or variances arising within refinery
  • Audits journal entries, orders, transactions and vouchers, and prepares reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlement
  • Coordinate SAP postings for pipeline and terminal movements, and prepare and review shipper statements
  • Evaluate and remedy all movement errors and prepare special month end product movement reports for Manager of Product Distribution
  • Analyze pipeline shipper gains and losses to ensure accuracy
  • Assist A/R in resolving logistics billing issues relating to pipeline or terminal movements
  • Track and enter branding master file additions, changes, de-branding
  • Assist lower level associates in processing inventory entries and other reports as necessary
  • Participate in special assignments as required

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion

Experience

A minimum of 3 years of related job experience is required.

Education Level

A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field.

Required Skills

Intermediate ability to perform accounting analysis as needed. Working knowledge of Microsoft products (intermediate MS Excel), experience with accounting and maintenance software (SAP experience preferred). Intermediate understanding of accounting practices and procedures. Ability to manage and analyze detailed inventory movements for multiple locations. Ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication, basic reading and writing skills, and ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

Preferred Skills:

Experience in inventory movements and reconciliations is preferred.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

None typically but may act as lead in the monthly inventory measurement process, leading a number of field personnel.

Work Conditions

Office based with occasional refinery visits from time to time. Sometime will be required to work in petroleum refinery environment. Usually required to work flexible hours during monthly close.
