Job description


I. Job Summary
Coordinates all onsite activities at client location in relation to the storage, transportation and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes and other related services following federal, state & local regulations. Supervises and plans activities of onsite personnel. Serves as liaison between client and vendors in relation to service issues. Maintains pre-established standards for safety and environmental issues.

Hours: Monday thru Friday 7am - 3:30pm 

Exact hours may vary based off business & customer needs

Ability to work Turnaround Schedule is needed


II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 

  • Coordinate logistics for transportation of hazardous waste, universal waste and non-hazardous waste from client site including profiling, scheduling, manifesting and physically loading bulk and drum loads.
  • Ensure compliance with client and government regulations by performing necessary inspections and reporting. Resolve all issues in a timely manner.
  • Assist with client and vendor financial obligations including invoicing, reporting and contracts.
  • Promote culture of safety by ensuring site personnel are properly trained to perform assigned duties and comply with safety, environmental, federal, state and local regulations.
  • Quarterly training required.


III. Qualifications 
A. Required Qualifications 
 

  • Associate's Degree (accredited) in Environmental Sciences, Accounting, Business or related field, or in lieu of degree
  • High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • 1 year of relevant work experience (in addition to the education requirement).
  • RCRA and DOT regulatory compliance experience upon hire and
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification (or equivalent) or the ability to obtain such within 30 days of employment. 
  • Manifesting and profiling hazardous and non-hazardous waste experience required upon hire and
  • Pre-assignment and/or pre-hire customer-specific drug and/or alcohol testing may be required by certain customer-contract requirements. Such testing may include urinalysis, oral swab, drug hair follicle testing and/or alcohol testing upon hire
  • Valid Drivers License
  • TWIC Card or ability to obtain prior to starting
  • Ability to pass a respirator FIT test


B. Preferred Qualifications 

  • Prior leadership experience
  • Previous refinery experience
  • Waste coordination experience
  • Ability to read analytical reports from labs
  • CA Haz Waste Management Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment
  • Haz Mat Ground Shippers Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment

Combination: This job operates in a mix between an office environment and plant/field environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines, etc.
This role is designated as safety sensitive and will require the successful candidate to strictly comply with all safety rules and protocols. As part of the ongoing employment requirements, the successful candidate may be subject to drug and alcohol testing-including preemployment screening, postincident evaluations, reasonable suspicion checks, and random testing-in accordance with government regulations and company policies.
Pay: The expected base pay range for this on-site  position is $77,000 - $83,000/annually. This range represents  a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
