Title:                                          Planner (Routine Maintenance Planner)
Reports to:                              Routine Maintenance Manager
Employment Status:             Hourly
Hourly Rate:                           57.58
Job Role Summary
Under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager the  Planner utilizes the stage gated process to implement a work plan to execute routine maintenance tasks.
Determine the scope of work and develop detailed plans for the coordination and execution of plan tasks. Create/define schedules and procure resources (manpower, material, equipment, tools) for improved resource utilization and equipment reliability. Maintains equipment information/history database (SAP).
Work Environment:
The normal work environment will be in the corporate office and/or an industrial facility. Exposure to outdoor weather conditions is possible and proper PPE is required for a variety of potential hazards.
Role & Responsibilities
The Planner will supply technical knowledge and utilize experience from construction projects with responsibilities that may include to the following:
  • Develop scope of work and detailed planning packages. Take ownership for creation of all scope and support documentation.  Apply procedures, standards, policies and rules sets which govern the planned scope so that compliance is a part of the planning and execution process.
  • Participate/lead in safety activities such as auditing, procedure review, PJSR, JSA reviews, Tool box talks, Contractor expectations meetings, Safety plan reviews and critiques
  • Ensure correct procurement of material, manpower, equipment, and tools to aid in the execution of work.
  • Support project controls in administering and analyzing cost, schedule and production tool sets.
  • Experience in MNT Scheduling as well and knowledge of general cost control measures
  • Support development of the Yearly TA Medium Term Plan Budget by developing budgetary estimates
  • Develop and maintain equipment task list and bill of materials in SAP to improve planning and material procurement
  • Utilize SAP database for work history and workflow..

Experience
  • Knowledge of Prometheus or P6 (Preferred)
  • MNT Scheduling knowledge (Preferred)
  • Work experience in a chemical or refining manufacturing facility.
  • Experience in and understanding of the flow of maintenance work in various crafts.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills - inspire others and lead them through influence.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices
  • Effective meeting facilitation, organizational & problem solving, time management, and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of safety policies and procedures 
Decision Making:
  • Man-hour estimates directly relates to total manpower needed for execution of work.  These man-hour estimates are the basis for cost savings techniques for planning minimum manpower for individual jobs.
  • Scheduling and coordination of contract and Company personnel have a direct impact on efficiencies and cost of manpower, rental equipment, material delivery, and tool usage. Optimum efficiency is realized through the use of best practices for planning and execution of work. Planned work is safe work.

Analysis and Problem Solving:
  • Determination of the critical path of each job through the use of logic networks will reflect on the overall utilization of an operating unit or piece of equipment.  Reducing the duration of any job will result increasing asset availability.
  • Perform cost analysis of each planned job for a result of cost savings by use of best practices. 

Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel, and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Have strong multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints and process/instrument drawings
  • SAP knowledge
  • Prometheus group STO Suite

Physical
  • Must be able to present yourself in a positive, courteous, neat appearance, and professional manner.
  • Must comply with Manhattan Mechanical Services drug and alcohol policy.
  • Periods of walking and standing
  • Must be able to read and understand safety instructions, signs, labels, and permits in English.

Safety/Environmental
  • Must be able to pass applicable site-specific training.  Knowledge of refinery and chemical plant hazards which may require special precautions and PPE, such as Sulfuric, H2S and HF.
  • Must undertake the appropriate safety/environmental training commensurate with the position and location.
  • Must be able to read and understand safety instructions, signs, labels and permits in English.
