Job description

Total Safety is looking for a Nurse Practitionerย to add to their safety conscious team. The Nurse Practitioner will provide administrative, clerical and back-up medical support to customer site. Including, but not limited to absence management, medical record maintenance, and other general administrative duties as assigned.ย

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs general administrative support including report distribution and ordering medical suppliesย 
  • Schedules physicals, drug tests, and other medical appointmentsย 
  • Prepares paperwork for all medical visits (physicals, return to work visits, office visits, etc.)ย 
  • Prepares daily appointment sheet for scheduled clinic activityย 
  • Provides back-up medical support as requested by the facility physician and/or nurse, assisting with physical testing, administering injections and drug testingย 
  • Maintains medical charts, prepare new charts, update employee information due to changes (transfers, job title changes, name changes, etc.), and archive chartsย 
  • Maintains all electronic medical data, including, but not limited to, medical data entry (return to work visits, audio testing, physicals, office visit, etc.) updates to the Tier Tracker spreadsheet, updates to the Absence Tracker spreadsheet, etc.ย 
  • Maintains master records list for all paper and electronic filesย 
  • Maintains and distribute the monthly sick leave and weekly absence reports to designated personnelย 
  • Assures timely notification to HR of all FMLA denials and approvalsย 
  • Initial and on-going systematic patient assessmentย 
  • Ensuring medical orders are transcribed and processed accuratelyย 
  • Teaching and counseling patients/familiesย 
  • Positive, caring and customer-service oriented attitudeย 
  • Performs other administrative duties as requested by the facility physicianย ย 
  • Staff a medical clinic on land
  • Use clinic for triage, first aid, & general medical assessments
  • Option for 24hr on-call service

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • A minimum of four yearsโ€™ experience is required.ย 
    • Positive attitude and the ability to handle highly confidential informationย 
    • Robust customer service skillsย 
    • Competence in Rapid Response and code events
    • Experience with Occupational Medicine
    • Critical care experience, (preferred)ย ย

      EDUCATION

      • A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent and RN certification is required.ย 
      • Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationย 
      • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) requiredย ย 
        • CPR, First Aid certificateย ย 

      ย 

      OTHER REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE OR ABILITIES

      • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook and other data base softwareย 
      • Promoting continuous quality improvementย 
      • Skilled in handling emergency and life-threatening situationsย 
      • Strong communication skills and the capability to work independently with minimal guidanceย 
      • Knowledge of medical policies, strategies, programs and activitiesย 
      • Ability to communicate effectively with others, both written and verbal communicationย 

      INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATIONS

      • Develops strong relationships with customer personnel.ย  Frequent customer presentation.ย  Frequent contact with operations, purchasing, training and accounting to understand and resolve issues.ย  Shares opinions, ideas and resources with others to achieve common goals; with focus on teamwork and collaborationย
