This role is critical to protecting the dealership, supporting the sales team, and ensuring every transaction is completed accurately and efficiently.


Position Overview

The Title Clerk is responsible for processing and managing all vehicle title and registration paperwork in compliance with state and federal regulations.


This position requires someone who thrives in a structured, detail-oriented environment and understands the importance of accuracy, timelines, and follow-through.


Key Responsibilities
  • Process all vehicle title and registration paperwork accurately and within required timelines
  • Submit and track documents with the DMV and appropriate state agencies
  • Verify legal documents for completeness and compliance
  • Maintain organized records of titles, MSOs, payoffs, and supporting documents
  • Work closely with Sales, F&I, and Accounting to ensure deal jackets are complete and compliant
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies quickly to prevent funding delays or compliance risk
  • Support audits and maintain adherence to dealership and regulatory standards
What It TakesExperience
  • Prior experience as a Title Clerk, DMV Clerk, or automotive accounting/title processing professional preferred
  • Understanding of state titling and registration procedures
  • Experience in a dealership environment strongly preferred
  • Reynolds & Reynolds or Dealertrack experience a plus
