Job description

In this position you will provide full-spectrum Flight Manual Manager Support to the US Air Force B-2 Systems acquisition programs within the Bombers Directorate, Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) at Tinker AFB, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Essential Job Functions: The applicant shall perform duties as a technical writer-editor responsible for technical manual editing, writing, and composition of Technical Orders (TOs). The applicant shall provide policy input, training and technical oversight pertaining to Desk Top Publishing (DTP) and Common Source Databases (CSDB) publishing processes and source data formats.

The applicant shall demonstrate knowledge and experience with Air Force, Department of Defense (DoD) and commercial practices and provide technical insight and guidance as related to the implementation of publishing technologies and policies associated with TO update editorial requirements. The applicant shall review, interpret and influence USAF, AFMC, and Military Specifications by providing guidance relative to technical and functional editorial requirements. The applicant shall develop original and updates to existing TOs, TCTOs and manuals (Revisions, Changes and Supplements) from original source data provided in various formats and from various sources.

The applicant shall participate in meetings, conferences, and TO reviews in support of equipment specialists and TO managers to render advice or resolve problems relative to Air Force publications. The applicant will also support aircraft test and delivery schedules. The applicant shall monitor flight manual publications and other program TOs affecting the flight manual publication for compatibility.

The applicant shall determine the need for, schedule and chair a Flight Manual Review Conference for assigned publications. Required Skills: Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

A minimum of a Bachelor's degree plus 15 years of relevant experience or a Masters degree plus 12 years is required. Requires a Top Secret security clearance (adjudicated within the past 5 years) on the first day of employment. Applicant selected will be subject to a U.S.

Government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Post-secondary education may be substituted for work experience requirements. Of the total relevant experience, a minimum of 5 years managing programs in a DoD acquisition environment.

The applicant shall be technically qualified, i.e. certified engineers, flight crewmembers with experience in the weapon system, personnel with military aircrew experience using flight manuals or experience as a Flight Manual Manager.
