The team's name and mascot are inspired by American folk hero Johnny Appleseed, who is associated with the Fort Wayne area and is often depicted wearing a cooking pot, or 'tin cap,' on his head. The Tincaps provide a family-friendly entertainment experience with baseball games, community events, and promotions throughout their season.
