Job description

Job Summary

The function of the Tim Hortons US Sr. Manager, Business Development is to source and conduct due diligence on prospective new franchisees with the goal of signing multi‑year development agreements. The role includes vetting potential franchisees and managing a large pipeline of prospects, negotiating development agreements to sign a record number of new development agreements. RBI follows a five‑day, in‑office work schedule to support collaboration. Successful candidates are expected to work onsite five days per week.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and conduct thorough due diligence on prospective franchisees and manage relationships through the deal lifecycle until closing.
  • Lead pipeline management, negotiation, and execution of development agreements with high‑quality franchise partners.
  • Actively market growth opportunities to attract top‑tier franchise candidates and drive brand growth.
  • Partner cross‑functionally with Development, Market Planning, Franchising, and Field teams to gather necessary insights and drive negotiations.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to internal stakeholders and executive‑level leadership on a bi‑weekly or monthly cadence.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to define and execute long‑term development and expansion strategy for the Tim Hortons brand.
  • Plan and host quarterly Discovery Days to onboard recently signed franchisees.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field.
  • 6‑8 years of experience in business development, corporate finance, franchising, or a related field.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship‑management skills.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills with proficiency in Excel.
  • Ability to collaborate cross‑functionally to collect data and structure pitches to potential franchisee partners.
  • High level of integrity, accountability, and ownership, with a strong drive to contribute to team success.
