UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND

Maryland Athletics has partnered with Legends to integrate data and analytics, marketing, Terrapin Club fundraising initiatives, premium seating, a new private social membership club, and general ticket sales initiatives into a single revenue-driven approach.

Legends will assist in the sales strategy and execution of premium seating and ticket packages for all ticketed sports and will partner closely with athletics development leadership to support the day-to-day aspects of the Terrapin Fund programs. Legends' unique fundraising platform, an essential service embraced by higher education, identifies effective fan and donor engagement strategies to enhance ticket sales, philanthropic giving and other opportunities.

Maryland and Legends will introduce a Private Social Member Club & Restaurant with daily operations delivering elevated hospitality with premium culinary and beverage offerings, located in Maryland Athletic venues and hospitality spaces. The experience within the club is driven by Maryland's brand and DNA, creating an environment inviting alumni, donors, fans, faculty, coaches and executives. The Club will offer client-based perks and amenities only members can access - creating an air of exclusivity combined with a sense of personal connection and belonging.

Supporting these revenue generation pillars will be a robust technology, data, and analytics platform. The new business intelligence platform will provide Maryland Athletics with greater insights into Terrapin fans, including a complete view of their relationship to the University and athletic department, specific interests, brand affinities, behaviors, and how to most effectively engage.

THE ROLE

The Ticketing & Fundraising Specialist is primarily responsible for driving revenue and hitting sales goals around the season, group, premium ticket, donation, and hospitality packages for Maryland Athletics. This person should be a self-motivated and positive professional. This position is responsible for engaging, servicing and soliciting existing Maryland Athletics donors and ticket holders, while also identifying new prospective donors.

This position will be focused on building relationships, servicing all Maryland supporters, driving revenue for Maryland Athletics, and being a positive steward and representative of Legends and the University of Maryland.

The Ticketing & Fundraising Specialist will work under the direction and guidance of the Director, Sales, Service, & Retention.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The candidate will be responsible for offering a full menu of seating opportunities for Maryland Football, Men's Basketball, and all other ticketed sports.

  • Coordinate and execute sales calls on all potential customers through prospecting, cold callings, and referrals from current customers.

  • Identify and manage a portfolio of new prospects and existing donors to provide excellent customer service and drive revenue through the sales of ticket and donation offerings.

  • Identify and evaluate potential donors; design and implement prospect cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies to meet monthly and annual goals.

  • Using phone and in-person outreach, you will cultivate our donors' relationship with Maryland, solicit their support of university priorities, and steward their generosity.

  • Effectively use Salesforce CRM to accurately record all client and prospect interactions.

  • Participate and contribute in weekly sales meetings and training sessions.

  • Work in conjunction with Maryland Athletic Department team members to promote and generate sales on all events while providing a great fan experience.

  • Assist with any administrative ticket functions.

  • Assist with any special projects or duties as assigned by Director, Sales, Service, & Retention.

  • Entertain and nurture relationships with current donors and prospects through creative means

  • including but not limited to: networking events, speaking engagements, prospect sampling at games, seat visits at games, open houses at stadium, and outside meetings

  • Must be willing to work non-traditional hours, weekends, events and game days

  • The candidate will be accountable for certain levels of activity (calls made/appointments set) and goals

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Reach and exceed individual and team sales revenue goals.

  • Assist with managing and stewarding existing season ticket members and donors

  • Prospect and cultivate new sales leads through creative lead generation methods, as well as follow up on leads provided by partner organization

  • Ability to handle heavy volume of outbound and inbound phone calls and emails

  • Candidate should possess excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Candidate should possess an optimistic team-first attitude, as well as a competitive desire to be the best

  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and effectively influence and communication with C-level clients

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent1-2 years sales experience is preferred

COMPENSATION

Competitive pay ($18.03 - $19.00) + bonus opportunities and a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401k plan.
