Job Description

Precision Tune Auto Care is hiring a dependable, motivated, and customer-focused Assistant Store Manager / Assistant Service Manager for our Dairy Ashford location.

This position is ideal for someone with automotive service experience who is ready to take on additional leadership responsibility. You will work closely with the Store Manager to oversee daily operations, assist customers, support technicians, increase sales, and ensure every customer receives professional and honest service.

The Assistant Manager will also be responsible for helping complete and verify Vehicle Maintenance Inspections, customer inspection videos, estimates, callbacks, and repair recommendations.

Responsibilities
  • Greet customers professionally and identify their automotive service needs.
  • Answer incoming phone calls using company-approved scripts and procedures.
  • Prepare estimates and clearly explain recommended repairs and maintenance.
  • Complete, review, and verify Vehicle Maintenance Inspections, also known as VMIs.
  • Record clear and professional customer inspection videos showing vehicle concerns and recommended services.
  • Ensure inspection videos clearly explain what was found, why the repair is needed, and the urgency of the recommendation.
  • Help maintain the company goal of providing inspection videos to at least 80% of customers.
  • Verify that VMIs include the vehicle information, mileage, customer concern, dashboard lights, under-hood findings, tire and brake conditions, leaks, safety concerns, maintenance needs, and technician notes.
  • Review technician findings and confirm that all safety, maintenance, and repair recommendations are properly documented.
  • Follow up with customers regarding estimates, declined services, and previously recommended work.
  • Schedule appointments and help maintain an organized workflow.
  • Dispatch work to technicians based on priority, skill level, and shop capacity.
  • Monitor vehicle progress and provide customers with timely updates.
  • Present inspection findings, videos, estimates, and repair recommendations professionally.
  • Review invoices and completed work with customers before payment and vehicle pickup.
  • Assist with parts ordering, pricing, inventory, and vendor communication.
  • Support store goals for sales, car count, average ticket, labor cost, parts cost, and customer satisfaction.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and professional lobby and shop environment.
  • Assist with opening, closing, cash handling, credit-card reconciliation, and daily paperwork.
  • Complete daily customer callbacks and recommended-service follow-up calls.
  • Help train and coach employees on customer service, VMIs, videos, phone procedures, and company processes.
  • Handle customer concerns calmly, respectfully, and professionally.
  • Support the Store Manager in all areas of daily shop operations.
Qualifications
  • Previous automotive service advisor, assistant manager, or shop management experience is preferred.
  • General knowledge of automotive repairs and maintenance services.
  • Experience completing digital vehicle inspections or VMIs is preferred.
  • Comfortable recording customer-facing vehicle inspection videos.
  • Strong customer-service, sales, and communication skills.
  • Ability to explain vehicle repairs clearly and confidently.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Comfortable answering phones, preparing estimates, and following up with customers.
  • Able to work effectively with technicians, vendors, customers, and management.
  • Dependable, punctual, and willing to take ownership of responsibilities.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Basic computer and point-of-sale system experience.
  • Must be available to work Saturdays and the schedule required by the shop.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish is helpful but not required.
