The Opportunity

The Belleville Senators are seeking an energetic, detail-oriented professional to join ourteam as Usher / Ticket Taker. This is an excellent opportunity to join an NHL affiliate team which will allow the candidate to become fully engaged in the business of a professional sports team.

As an Usher / Ticket Taker of the Belleville Senators Hockey Club you assume the role of guide, communicator, decision-maker, and promoter of positive experiences. You are frequently changing hats and finding solutions that will create fans for life.


This is a part-time role based upon the organization's needs which can include weekday, evening, and weekends shifts.


Reports to: Business Operations Department


Key Responsibilities

Essential Position Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Ensure that all guests receive extraordinary customer service by:

  • Assisting with guest questions and/or needs
  • Admitting those who possess the proper ticket or identification to the facilities
  • Being responsible for ensuring that all customers adhere to the building policies and have great experience
  • Monitoring guests' alcohol consumption, and ensuring all guests maintain a state of sobriety
  • Escorting guests in wheelchairs as needed, using elevators


Qualifications

  • Displays a positive and outwardly friendly attitude
  • Ability to listen, articulate ideas, and respond in an empathetic and clear manner to all guests
  • Must be minimum 21 years old by start date
  • Able to work flexible hours (evenings, weekends, holidays)
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Able to walk/stand for extended periods of time and comfortable with heights
  • Able to walk up/down stairs multiple times each game to attend to assigned section
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Effective interpersonal, and oral communication skills
  • Some basic knowledge of hockey and the AHL


Who We Are

The Belleville Senators are a professional ice hockey team based in Belleville, Ontario, competing in the American Hockey League (AHL). They are the top affiliate of the NHL's Ottawa Senators and were established in 2017 after the Binghamton Senators relocated to Belleville. The team plays its home games at CAA Arena and serves as a key development ground for Ottawa's future NHL talent.
