Background check, US Citizenship, secret clearance, and a CAC are requirements of this position. Travel is 15%. Contingent on contract award.
This position supports the Strike and Warfare programs including the Tomahawk Weapon System Program for a variety of U.S. Navy Warships.
Job Responsibilities:
1) Serve as a waterfront representative, providing direct software installations on Cisco Networks and Linux computers for Weapon Control Systems (WCS).
2) Be responsible for loading the WCS operational software and all related software components onto the designated system hardware in accordance with approved Navy procedures and technical documentation.
3) Perform post-load software configuration and system setup, including the configuration of network switches, routers and display console.
4) Perform System Operability Verification Test (SOVT) and implement system security settings in accordance with DoD (Department of Defense) and DoN (Department of Navy) cyber-security requirements and guidelines. Perform system administration tasks on the WCS, including verifying system performance, monitoring system logs, and troubleshooting any issues that arise during the software loading and testing process.
5) Conduct Pre-Installation Check Out (PICO) of the Weapon Control System and their associated interfaces.
6) Monitor the progress during installation of weapon system hardware, cabling, etc. and report if it is done in accordance with the applicable drawings.
7) Coordinate with On-Site Installation Coordinator (OSIC) and Ship Force on daily progress and schedule impacts.
8) Provide weekly highlights of efforts accomplished and being worked.
9) Complete additional tasks as required.

Education/Certifications Requirements
1) The best candidate should have served previously as a U.S. Navy Fire Control Technician with a background in various Strike and Combat Systems Programs or civilian service in the Tomahawk Weapons System operations and testing or equivalent. Preferred a Senior U.S. Navy Enlisted, CWO, or LDO with multiple ship tours supporting U.S. Navy Combat Systems.
NOTE: Applicants with previous relevant and related Shipbuilding experience will be considered.
2) Must have a strong background in Combat System Software installation as well as experience with Linux computer systems as well as Cisco Networks and routers.
3) Experience with Unix systems is very desirable.
4) Must possess a secret clearance
5) Experience in leading technical teams in maintaining, troubleshooting, testing and repair.
6) Tasking will include visiting/inspecting U.S. Navy Ships/vessels.
7) Must be able to climb tall shipboard ladders, wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and work in adverse environments
8) Communication skills in briefing at all levels of the organization and be able to work with and foster a strong team environment.
9) Analytical skills to effectively track, manage, and status multiple technical issues.
10) Must have strong Microsoft Office Suite computer skills.
11) Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $95,000 to $110,000. This range represents a good-faith estimate of the base salary that Thunderbolt Solutions reasonably expects to pay for this role at the time of posting.
Final compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the position, relevant experience, education, certifications, specific technical skills, internal equity, and current market conditions.
This position may also be eligible for a company bonus and comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, paid time off (PTO), and a 401(k) retirement plan.
