Job description

Role and Responsibilities
• Independently apply coatings and liners to a variety of surfaces, including tanks, pipes, and other industrial structures, using brushes, rollers, sprayers, or other equipment.
• Perform surface preparation, including abrasive blasting, sanding, and cleaning, ensuring optimal conditions for coatings and liners.
• Mix and prepare coatings and lining materials accurately to meet project specifications.
• Inspect the application of coatings and liners for quality, ensuring proper adhesion, coverage, and uniformity.
• Assist in the installation of protective liners and coatings in confined spaces and high-traffic areas.
• Maintain a detailed inventory of materials and equipment, ensuring timely orders for project completion.
• Supervise and mentor Coatings Liner II personnel, providing training and guidance on proper techniques and safety standards.
• Perform thorough quality control inspections during and after application to ensure adherence to safety regulations and project specifications.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, ensuring all safety guidelines are followed.
• Review and comply with project specifications, blueprints, and guidelines to ensure proper application of coatings and liners.
• Record work hours, materials used, and project details accurately.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications are a plus.
1+ years of experience in the application of coatings and liners, including surface preparation and material mixing.
• Strong understanding of different types of coatings and liners and their applications in various environments.
• Proven experience applying coatings and liners independently and inspecting work for quality.
• Ability to interpret and follow project specifications, blueprints, and safety regulations.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on achieving quality results.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with team members and supervisors.
• Ability to lift heavy materials, work in various weather conditions, and in confined spaces.
Preferred Skills:
• OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety certification.
• Experience with industrial coatings and liners, including epoxy and polyurethane materials.
• Experience with quality control and performing surface adhesion tests.
Physical Requirements
• Work is primarily performed on construction job sites, exposed to outdoor elements and varying weather conditions.
• Must be able to work in confined spaces or elevated areas depending on the project.
• Physical labor may be required, including the ability to lift and move equipment or materials.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times for safety.
• Flexibility to work extended hours or on weekends as project schedules require.
• The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation.
The individual must also be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required. This includes hard hat, safety glasses/spoggles, respirators, ear plugs, steel toed shoes, or other protective equipment as required by the work performed and location the work is being done.
