A therapeutic mentor is a person that works as part of a social services group to provide guidance and support for youth that are dealing with stressful situations. You can find these professionals working out in the community to help young people with emotional and physical health challenges. Also known as a social or human services personnel, your job duties include providing crisis intervention in a family home setting, developing meaningful relationships with families, and overseeing development programs designed to help the youth succeed. You spend much of your work time in homes, schools, or community settings.
