Job description

BASIC PURPOSE:
The Assumption University Theology Department seeks a qualified instructor to teach one or more sections of the course "THE-100 - Introduction to Theology" for the Spring 2026 semester. Each iteration of this course should provide a broad overview of Catholic theology, with a focus on major Christian doctrines (Trinity, Christology, sacramental theology, ecclesiology etc.).
Each section must also cover a significant portion of Augustine of Hippo's Confessions.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Please submit a letter of interest, current curriculum vita, and the names and contact information for two references who can attest to the applicant's teaching experience and qualifications. In the cover letter, we invite candidates to describe their experiences working with a diverse student body. Finalists will also be asked to provide official transcripts of academic work from the highest degree-granting institution and two written letters of recommendation. Materials must be submitted online as MS Word documents or PDF files at the following website: www.assumption.edu/hr. Requirements
Qualified instructors will possess at least a Master's degree in Theology (or an ecclesiastical equivalent thereof), if not also a doctoral degree. The sections in need of staffing will run in person on a Monday/Wednesday/Friday schedule, and the instructor will be provided office space from which to conduct required office hours, as well as any other related work.
