Additional Information: This position is on-call and hours vary, with no minimum number of hours guaranteed. Assignments can range from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. and include weekdays and weekends. Annual cap is 1508 hours.
The Position
This position is a call as-needed position that includes a broad range of support personnel required to execute productions in the Jay and Linda Grunin Center for the Arts venues and across Ocean County College campus, as requested. The productions include touring shows, rental events, college performance groups, and the OCC Rep Theater's annual summer musical.
Classification: Casual/As-Needed

What You Will Do
Technicians will assist the Technical Production Manager and Technical Production Coordinators in various functions. Specific activities will be determined by production needs and individual technician's skills and experience, and may include:
1. Loading - in/out of sets, lights, costumes, audio
2. Lighting - hanging and focusing lighting equipment, operating lighting console, follow spot operator
3. Audio
4. Carpentry/Set Construction
5. Painting
6. Rigging
7. Related duties as assigned
The Successful Candidate Must Have
1. Ability to follow directions and be receptive to feedback.
2. General understanding of backstage procedures and protocols.
3. Effective communication skills, attention to detail, and good follow-through.
Rate determined as follows:
• Senior Theater Technician - $30.00/ hour: Ten (10) years of demonstrated theater production experience and/or education.
• Theater Technician - $21.00/ hour: Five (5) years of demonstrated theater production experience and/or education.
• Apprentice Theater Technician - $17.00/ hour: Three (3) years of demonstrated theater production experience and/or education.

OCC follows the NJ Sick Leave Law, providing one (1) hour of sick leave per every thirty (30) hours worked. A maximum of forty (40) hours may be accrued.
