Job description

The DoubleTree by Hilton Miami Airport Convention Center is seeking an experienced Hostess/ Cashier to join our team. This position is 100% on-site, no remote work; this role pays $14.00/hr.
The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Miami Airport Convention Center is conveniently situated just south of Miami International Airport off the Dolphin Expressway adjacent to the Blue Lagoon Business District. The hotel features 334 guestrooms, onsite dining, fitness room, outdoor pool, business center, complimentary High-Speed Internet Access, 24,000 square feet of retail space, 20,000 Square feet of Hotel Meeting and Function Space and an Convention Center with 152,000 square feet of meeting, event and exhibit space.
This position will be a non-exempt position and will report to the Food & Beverage Manager.
The bartender is responsible for providing timely, accurate and friendly service while seating our guests and closing their transactions at Grab & Go outlet.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Warmly and graciously greet all guests upon arrival.
  • When immediate seating is limited, record guest names and number of people in party.
  • Call out name and number of party when tables become available.
  • Provide guests with estimated waiting time.
  • Accommodate special seating requests for guests whenever possible.
  • Seat guest guests based on guest preferences and balancing of customer flow in service stations.
  • Upon seating, offer guests a menu and inform them of their server's name. Inspect table for proper presentation and completeness.
  • Relay messages to servers and buspersons as needed.
  • Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return

Qualifications/ Skills:
  • Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of our guests.
  • Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a cash register.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
  • Work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Fluency in a second language preferred, preferably Spanish.
