Location: Kapalua, Maui
Position Type: Independent Contractor (Commission-Based) OR Employee Position Available

About the Role

We are seeking outgoing, professional, and creative photographers to join our team in beautiful Kapalua. This role is ideal for photographers who enjoy working with people, creating memorable vacation experiences, and capturing natural, candid moments for couples and families visiting Maui.

Photographers will provide complimentary portrait sessions at luxury resort properties, with guests having the opportunity to purchase their images afterward.

This role is focused on the photoshoot experience only - no editing, sales, gallery delivery, or client communication required.

Sessions are typically 30 minutes in length, with the possibility of multiple back-to-back shoots.

This is a luxury hotel environment with historically 90%+ guest purchase rates. Collection packages range approximately from $500-$2,000+, with commission paid on net sales + Tips.

If a session does not result in a sale, photographers will still receive a flat session fee to ensure compensation for their time.

Responsibilities

Photograph couples, families, honeymooners, and vacation guests during scheduled portrait sessions
Create a fun, relaxed, and luxury guest experience
Capture high-quality portraits in resort, beach, and outdoor environments
Guide guests with posing while maintaining a natural and authentic feel
Maintain a polished appearance and professional demeanor
Represent the company and partner resorts professionally at all times
Arrive prepared and on time for scheduled sessions
Upload RAW image files after sessions according to company workflow standards (if applicable)

Qualifications

Photography experience preferred, especially portrait, family, lifestyle, or hospitality photography
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Comfortable directing guests of all ages and family sizes
Reliable transportation and punctuality required
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Weekend and holiday availability preferred
Strong understanding of natural light photography
Positive attitude and ability to work in a luxury hospitality environment

Independent Contractor Position

Ideal for photographers who:

Prefer flexible scheduling
Own their own professional equipment

Want to work portrait sessions alongside other photography work

Requirements:

Must provide own professional camera equipment
Commission-based compensation structure
Flat session fee provided when no purchase occurs
Flexible scheduling opportunities available

Employee Position

We are also open to employee-based positions for photographers seeking a more structured role.

Employee photographers may receive:

Scheduled shifts and assigned availability
Additional support and training

Employee roles are ideal for photographers seeking stability, long-term growth, and integration within our broader photography programs.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal photographer is personable, energetic, self-motivated, and passionate about creating meaningful guest experiences through photography. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys hospitality, tourism, and creating lasting memories in one of the most beautiful locations in Hawaii.
