The Boathouse at City Point
HOUSEpitality Family

The Boathouse at City Point is one of the newest waterfront destinations in the HOUSEpitality Family, located along the Appomattox River in Hopewell, VA. Known for its beautiful views, high-energy service, and welcoming atmosphere, City Point is a fast-paced restaurant where teamwork and hospitality matter every shift.
Support team members are guaranteed a minimum of $13/hr, and at The Boathouse at City Point this role typically averages over $20/hr with tips, based on schedule and shift volume.
Position Summary
The Support role includes responsibilities as a Food Runner/Busser and/or Barback. Support team members play a key role in delivering an exceptional guest experience by keeping service flowing smoothly, assisting both Front of House and Back of House teams, and maintaining clean, organized dining and bar areas.
Food Runners and Bussers ensure guests receive their meals quickly and accurately while helping reset tables for future service. Barbacks support the bar team by stocking supplies, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring bartenders have everything they need for success.
Responsibilities
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external guests
  • Serve as a connection point between Front of House and Back of House teams
  • Deliver food quickly and accurately from the kitchen to guests
  • Assist with table clearing, resetting, and maintaining dining room cleanliness
  • Support bar operations by stocking liquor, garnishes, and glassware
  • Load and unload dishwashers as needed behind the bar
  • Ensure food is served in accordance with safety and temperature standards
  • Remove dirty dishes and utensils throughout service
  • Inform servers or bartenders of guest requests or feedback
  • Clean and reset tables or bar areas after guest departure
  • Support other restaurant positions as needed
  • Provide excellent hospitality and teamwork every shift
  • Complete other duties as assigned
