We are currently seeking a highly skilled and reliable Class A CDL Driver to join our Block team at SRM Concrete. This pivotal role involves the safe and efficient transportation of blocks to customers and other locations as well as working as the yard person during times you are not make delivery's. The ideal candidate will have a strong safety record, exceptional driving skills, and a Go Getter mentality. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Class A CDL Driver to take on a vital role in our logistics chain, ensuring the timely and safe delivery of blocks to our customers as well as loading and working around the block plant. Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate a Class A truck, transporting blocks from the plant to customers and various concrete plant locations.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and compliance with all regulations.
  • Accurately complete and maintain logbooks, delivery documentation, and other required paperwork in compliance with company policies and DOT regulations.
  • Maintain communication with dispatch to receive delivery instructions and provide updates on route progress.
  • Ensure the secure loading and unloading of cement, preventing spillage or contamination.
  • Adhere to established routes, schedules, and safety procedures for transporting hazardous materials.
  • Provide exceptional customer service at delivery sites, acting as a professional representative of the company.
  • Ability to drive a loader to load blocks onto trucks.

Requirements:
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Current DOT Medical Card
  • A minimum of 2 years of proven experience in driving Class A trucks.
  • Clean driving record with no serious tickets or accidents in the last 5 years.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards for transporting materials.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds and manage tasks that involve bending, lifting, and climbing.
  • Excellent time management skills to adhere to predetermined schedules.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with plant personnel and customers.
  • Willingness to undergo SRM's pre-employment screenings.
