Position:ย Arena Worker (Part Time)
Work Schedule:ย Hours vary depending on time of year. The person in this position must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Job Summary:ย The Arena Worker is a part time position responsible for assisting with and completing daily tasks necessary for the successful operation of the ice arena. This position reports to the Arenas Manager and Assistant Arenas Manager and takes daily direction from the Arena Coordinator(s).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
ย
Assist with arena events such as high school hockey games, tournaments, ice shows, open skate, etc.
Treat users of the building in a polite and courteous manner
Set-up or tear-down equipment and furniture for activities and events
Operate ice resurfacer
Move nets and/or shovel snow during ice resurface
Monitor refrigeration equipment and notifies others of issues
Perform various custodial duties, such as cleaning restrooms and locker rooms, sweeping and washing floors, and hauling trash to maintain safe and clean facilities, when custodial services is not available
Assist with general building repairs and equipment maintenance
Operate security system by either opening the arena in the morning or securing the arena at the conclusion of a shift along with ensuring the arena is secure by locking doors
Operates mechanical, electrical and ventilation equipment by turning on/off and/or setting day/night cycles
Assists in the maintenance of lawns, landscaping, concrete and blacktop surfaces, including pedestrian walkways, snow and ice removal
Maintain safe maintenance practices and adhere to safety requirements
Perform other duties as assigned

Willingness to work irregular hours and have good attendance
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

As an Arena Worker in our learning environment, the individual will work indoors and outdoors, in and out of climate controlled environments.ย The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands:ย frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. There may be irregular tasks that involve possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids or tissues. A person in this position must follow all ISD 622 safety procedures including wearing required personal protective equipment as required in these circumstances. The job is performed under temperature extremes and under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.
