Mission & Impact

Join a team that designs the Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) and Test Scripts that validate our spacecraft avionics before they fly. You'll own test solutions endtoend-hardware, software, documentation, and testing -and see your work directly contribute to mission readiness and customer acceptance.

If you bring strong C, Python, LabVIEW and handson test hardware design experience, we'll train you on Moog's niche tools and power architectures (e.g., Intercept Mozaix, EPS).

What You'll Do

Design & build EGSE for spacecraft avionics: select COTS instruments, design custom test boxes/panels, and develop cabling/harnesses.

Develop test software: author automation scripts in Python; integrate with embedded test code (VxWorks/C); build LabVIEW UIs/VIs for instrument control and telemetry.

Integrate with flightlike units: interface with embedded single board computers (SBCs) and custom analog/digital I/O for Command & Data Handling (C&DH); support EPS/power switching use cases.

Author formal test documentation: Document test architecture and usage, Document test reconfigurability for reuse across multiple programs, Environmental Test Plans, Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs), and configurationcontrolled schematics/BOMs.

Execute & improve: run test campaigns (functional, environmental), troubleshoot anomalies, drive root cause/corrective actions, and mentor junior engineers.

Collaborate crossfunctionally: partner with systems, firmware, manufacturing test, and program management to meet schedule, cost, and technical goals.

MustHave Qualifications (Core)

7+ years in aerospace/defense test engineering with handson ownership of EGSE hardware + software + documentation.

Proficiency in the following coding languages:

o Python - test automation and data handling.

o C - embedded systems.

o LabVIEW - building productiongrade instrument control and operator UIs.

Practical experience selecting/integrating COTS instruments (PSUs, loads, DAQ, scopes) and designing custom test fixtures/cable assemblies.

Ability to write clear ATPs/I&T plans and maintain accurate schematics/parts lists.

Strong debugging skills across analog/digital interfaces; comfortable reading schematics and interpreting telemetry.

U.S. person (due to exportcontrolled work).

Note: While the legacy posting listed 7-10 years, we welcome 5+ years if you demonstrate full EGSE lifecycle ownership and strong crossdisciplinary collaboration.

NicetoHave (We Will Train Where Needed)

Familiarity with VxWorks on embedded SBCs.

Familiarity with pytest

Experience with cPCI SBCs and C&DH architectures.

Exposure to EPS backplanes (power switching, solar array/battery management).

VHDL/FPGA interface testing.

Cable/harness design experience and knowledge of best practices (EMI/EMC, shielding/grounding).

Experience with Intercept Mozaix (or similar) for schematic/BOM/document control.

Environmental test support (thermalvac, vibe, EMI/EMC).

Growth & Development

Structured onboarding with mentorship and exposure to multiple spacecraft programs.

Targeted training on Moogspecific tools/architectures (Intercept Mozaix, EPS power switching) and advanced LabVIEW frameworks.

Clear technical progression toward lead/architect EGSE roles and mentoring responsibilities.
