Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center

is seeking a full‑time Physician Associate or AGAC Certified Nurse Practitioner to join our hospital‑employed Emergency Medicine team in Bangor, Maine.

Position Highlights
  • Flexible shifts for work/life balance: 8–12‑hour shifts from 7a-11p, 365 days per year – NO OVERNIGHTS
  • We use Cerner, M*Modal, Tigertext, and Vocera
  • Excellent opportunity to practice independently at the top of your license.
  • Ideal candidate will have completed an EM fellowship or have 2-3 years of EM experience.
Compensation Information
  • $131,100 - $145,350 annual base salary with the ability to earn additional compensation based on quality incentives.
  • The compensation range listed reflects the range Northern Light Health anticipates relying on in setting the wages for the position. The range may not necessarily include all additional compensation elements available, including but not limited to call pay, leadership stipends, etc.

  • 38k patients/year encompassing all ages, highest acuity ED in the state.
  • Group consists of 16 ABEM certified Emergency Medicine Physicians and 7 Physician Associates. Dual physician coverage at a minimum 24/7
  • Care areas include the main ED, Behavioral Health and observation. Access to behavioral health practitioners and clinicians 24/7
  • Full support of medical specialists. Including ED Pharmacist, PICU, NICU, IMU, CCU, and a closed ICU

Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center is a 411‑bed, regional tertiary care and ACS‑verified level II trauma center serving a patient population of approximately 500,000 in the northern two‑thirds of the state. The hospital is a base for LifeFlight of Maine, a critical care air transportation service flying nearly 900 missions per year. We are a member of Northern Light Health, the most expansive integrated health delivery system in Maine.
