12-Hour Nights • Level I Trauma • Trauma + OB Anesthesia • No Call

Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking an experienced Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity in Norfolk, Virginia, beginning December 1, 2026.

This is a dedicated 7:00 PM–7:00 AM inpatient anesthesia role within a 525-bed tertiary-care teaching environment and Level I Adult Trauma Center. The assignment offers experienced CRNAs meaningful overnight practice across trauma and obstetric anesthesia, including epidural and spinal anesthesia, without an additional call requirement.

Coverage is ongoing while the anesthesia team recruits for a permanent CRNA.

Schedule

7:00 PM–7:00 AM | 12-Hour Nights

Exact scheduling and monthly coverage will be determined by the anesthesia team.

Full-time and holiday availability is needed. Holiday coverage extends across the late-November through early-January period, with existing locum CRNAs receiving first priority for available holiday coverage.

Clinical Practice

This is an inpatient anesthesia assignment for a CRNA comfortable practicing within the complexity of a major tertiary-care and trauma environment.

The required clinical scope includes:

  • Trauma anesthesia
  • Obstetric anesthesia
  • Epidural anesthesia
  • Spinal anesthesia
  • Inpatient anesthesia coverage
  • Care of patients within a Level I Adult Trauma environment

The hospital operates as a tertiary-care teaching facility with an established anesthesia department supporting a broad inpatient population.

Experience Requirements

This is not an entry-level CRNA assignment.

Candidates must have:

  • Current CRNA Board Certification
  • Active Virginia license
  • Trauma anesthesia experience
  • OB anesthesia experience
  • Demonstrated experience with epidural and spinal anesthesia
  • Experience appropriate for inpatient tertiary-care anesthesia practice
  • Ability to provide consistent overnight coverage
