We are currently seeking a Weekend Tennis Court Maintenance Attendant to work Saturdays and Sundays from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Additional weekday hours may be available within the Maintenance Department for the right candidate. No previous experience is required-we will provide all necessary training!

The Ideal Candidate
Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to follow and communicate written and verbal instructions effectively.
Training & Experience: No previous experience is required. Experience with tennis courts, grounds, landscaping, or outdoor facility maintenance is helpful but not necessary. We are willing to train the right candidate. A valid state driver's license is required.
Job Knowledge: Must be willing to learn clay court maintenance and resurfacing procedures, including rolling, lining, watering, brushing, and preparing courts for play. The successful candidate will be trained to operate court-maintenance equipment and irrigation systems safely and to follow established court-watering schedules.
Job Summary: Maintain the playing conditions, appearance, cleanliness, and safety of the tennis courts and surrounding grounds at Epping Forest Yacht & Country Club. This position is responsible for preparing clay courts for daily play, maintaining landscaping within the tennis facility, safely operating maintenance equipment, and providing courteous service to members and guests.
Physical Requirements: Must be physically able to perform outdoor maintenance duties in varying weather conditions. Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds, safely operate light machinery and maintenance equipment, bend, kneel, stand, and walk for extended periods, and operate a motor vehicle.
What You Will Be Doing
  • Work Saturdays and Sundays from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
  • Be available for additional weekday hours within the Maintenance Department when needed.
  • Arrive at work on time and in the required uniform, which must be clean, neat, and in good condition.
  • Maintain a professional, well-groomed appearance in accordance with company standards.
  • Attend all required departmental meetings, training programs, and safety courses.
  • Learn to safely and proficiently operate appropriate court-maintenance equipment.
  • Roll, line, water, brush, and prepare clay courts for daily play.
  • Follow established court-watering and maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain the tennis facilities in a clean, safe, attractive, and proper playing condition.
  • Inspect courts regularly and report maintenance needs, unsafe conditions, or interruptions in play.
  • Identify and report safety hazards and assist with ensuring corrective action is completed.
  • Greet members and guests by name whenever possible and provide courteous updates regarding court conditions and availability.
  • Trim, weed, maintain, and replace plants and shrubs surrounding the tennis courts.
  • Coordinate with the Grounds Foreman and Greenhouse Manager as needed.
  • Maintain clean and organized storage, work, and equipment areas.
  • Monitor court supplies and notify the Tennis Director when additional equipment or materials are needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support excellent court conditions and a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
