Temporary Installer - Turn

The Student Housing Technologies (SHT) Temporary Installer will support TV installation during property turn season. This role involves transporting, assembling, and connecting TVs in residential units, ensuring proper functionality and connectivity. Installers will work on-site at various properties across the U.S.

Reports to: Vice President - Technology Services

Duties/Responsibilities: The duties listed below are an outline of the role's responsibilities and should not be considered an all-inclusive list. As the needs of the organization change, these duties may be modified as needed.

  • Transport TVs from staging areas to installation locations (elevator use preferred; stairs may be required).
  • Assemble TVs using included feet and power cords; insert batteries into remotes.
  • For 65" TVs, assemble and attach additional tabletop mounts.
  • Place TVs on pre-assembled furniture.
  • Connect coaxial cables, AC power cords, and CAT5 jumpers to TVs and wall outlets.
  • Perform channel auto-scans and verify TV functionality.
  • Confirm wired network connectivity.
  • Conduct light troubleshooting (e.g., checking power in UDP) if channels or internet are not available.
  • Document unresolved issues with apartment numbers for follow-up.
  • Remove installation-related trash to designated dumpsters.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Basic understanding of AV and network connections.
  • Ability to lift and carry TVs and equipment (up to 75 lbs).
  • Comfortable using hand tools and following assembly instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
  • Reliable transportation to job sites.
